Default Castrol 1/4 mile strip rental.

Is anyone interested in renting the drag strip at castrol with me and a few friends? We are doing it on a weeknight as they are obviously booked solid on the weekends and fridays.

I am thinking Wednesday, May 16th/2012

Price is $2500 for 10 cars. So $250 bucks and you will get in numerous runs!

This rental is only for 1 lane. They said it cost $5000+ to get both lanes going and race... $$$ cause of insurance.

We will just be practicing launches and seeing who can get the best times, etc.

So if anyone is like me and sick of getting to street legals, sitting around for 2 hrs than doing 4 runs if your lucky, give me a shout

Once I get enough guys, I will book it.

Leave a msg on here if interested and msg me to sign up.

Thanks

For that price you can rent a real race track. My god Castrol is on crack charging that kind of money for a single drag lane on a weeknight. If you don't rent it, it just sits empty 99% of weekday evenings. Why not charge $1,000 and actually get it rented out more often?

When i had a cobalt we had a cobalt meet and rented the track for 2 days. And it was no where near that price. Then again we had about 40 people pitching in but we raced all day and we were going to camp there and race the next day but a storm/tornado ended up coming in.

Its $5000 to rent both lanes.

Its the insurance that is expensive.

As well as labor to get some guys out there to run things...

Nothing is free these days... A business needs to make money...

They would most likely be operating at a loss on $1000/rental, mostly because of insurance rates.

Ask Matt how much is costs to rent Strato and to get some good guys to coordinate everything... Its probably not cheap and not easy...

I dont mind 250 bucks to go get about 30 runs in... My slicks will be toast anyways. The cheap part is the rental.... Gas, tires, etc is way more.

I've rented tracks and run many events before. We paid not much more than that to rent the Race City road course for six hours.

Did Castrol place the limit on cars, or was that you?

They quoted me the car limit and $200 for anything over 10 cars.

I just want to get out there and get a bunch of runs in without waiting in line for an hour each time, etc.

no need to critisize the cost... the guy is just offering spots to those interested. Nice gesture, regardless of price.

If my 911 is ready in time I'll join in for sure. I really want to get booted for going under 11.5 with no cage. That would be worth $250.
