The winter beater needed some attention before the snow flies... so, random STi interlude.

Lunchtime on the picnic table!

Engine out (to do clutch & oil pickup)

Knipex can undo anything.

Down to the rivets.

Huh, OEM downpipe was totally broken off at the cat. Only held together by the heatshields.

O2 sensor installed in new exhaust:

[hr]

Engine pulled, clutch done, oil pickup replaced, and engine back into the car & mated with the trans... in one day.

Alternator, oil, radiator, exhaust, ecu reflash and we're ready to turn the key

I hate it when the pizza between the engine and transmission wears out.

So... With the other car trapped on jackstands now would be a *great* time to for the brakes to suddenly make a "metal on metal noise" because who doesn't love working on _all_ their cars at once?

So, since I did fewer trackdays & TimeAttack this year, I wasn't swapping from my track to my autox/street pads that often... So I wasn't really monitoring my squealer-less Carbotech AX6...

If you're curious how Carbotech bonds their material to the backing plate, here ya go.

Thankfully I had a set of OEM "emergency pads" on the shelf. Just above the squealers, find for dailying.

ToDo:
-order another set of AX6

pizza wearing out regardless of where it might be is a hate-able offence...

to Grant,
its interesting how the wear on your pads shows more wear on the leading edge of one and the trailing edge of the other. sticky slide maybe?
