Longer vid of some of the day, quickest autox run, what could've been my quickest autox run, and a little wrenching.

This probably took longer than Richard expected... but I installed the coilovers I picked up from him on Friday.

Done.

Dropped the rear from 35cm (~13 3/4") to 33.5cm (~ 13 3/16") to better match the front 33cm (~13").

Reading the STR prep threads no-one had a 1" rake on their car, but they all had _some_ rake so we'll see how this works.

Ride height is super easy to adjust with these. You don't have to do anything but jack it up (& optionally take the wheel off).
 • loosen lock collar
 • use wrench to turn entire damper in spherical top bearing
 • tighten collar.

Ride height set with you in the car right? Time for a corner balance prolly too

Probably, but for now bump in spring rate & more digressive damping is the biggest change I'm happy with.

Quick pics from the last e̶v̶e̶n̶t̶ Test & Tune...

Took off early to out-run the weather.

------------------------------------

Brakes broke....

So, after a whole bunch of years with no dust boots my caliper pistons seized and I ended up with dragging front brakes.

So, powdercoated new calipers... If I can't stand "red brakes" they'll be a great base to scuff & paint black or pair with some red stoptechs in front.

Also, where the lines met the fittings was visibly separated (probably too many almost drops or twists while doing brake pad swaps).

Now just to get them on the car prior to this Sundays autox.

(If you've spotted me DD'ing the boring wagon despite nice summer conditions, now you know why.)

Finished the rear brakes.

Same as before, I bled them & bled them and they were still soft. So now have it "bricked" overnight in the hopes it'll stop sucking before the autox on Sunday.

Bled them w/ snackers working the pedal, gravity bled them, bled them with the wifes help, and now I have the pedal "bricked" overnight in the hope the air will find its way out. If they still suck I'll be cycling the ABS and bleeding some more...

Hope I get them fixed before the TimeAttack on Tuesday...

All I did was "brick" the brake pedal over night (pump up so it's hard, and then hold it down w/ a piece of wood & the seat, pulled the (-) lead to not kill the battery) and when I hopped in this morning to go drive through some dirty roads near construction to easily engage abs it felt high & hard!

I can't tell you why it worked for me, but didn't work for a friend with an ///m3, all I can tell you is, "Yay!"
