Something to consider (if you haven't already) is added two higher mounted brake lights. That way if something unfortunate happens it's one less thing to worry about.

Default Shakedown complete

A good testing day revealed a few weak spots that we will address before next weeks race. The exhaust broke at the resonator and turn in is not as responsive as we would like. We'll fix that up and try to make it a bit prettier in the next few posts to this thread.

Default More wrenching at race pace

Post shakedown teardown and analysis. First major problem was the exhaust breaking. If fractured in 2 places around the resonator. New pipe was welded in place and the resonator is now gone. Brock said the car was incredibly loud inside the car when the exhaust broke, but from the outside it was silent like a U-boat... well next to the screaming hondas at track junkies. Tire wear seems acceptable and fuel consumption is well within spec. It consumed a bit of oil over the day, but nothing worrisome. A few tarry leaks of unidentified goo were found on the bottom of the engine and the transmission. Over the weekend we also installed most of the fire system and did some ride height corrections of the car.

A lot of Chump teams have had success using chain to hold the exhaust as it allows a lot of movement.

Default Final race prep

Packing taped the lights, got started on the kill switch mounting and wiring. Seat brace is also complete and installed. Other little things slowly getting taken care of too like protecting all the fuel lines and making sure everything is a secure as it can be.

Default Basically ready

All the must do stuff is now done. Next step is submitting the car to tech inspection and hoping we didn't forget anything stupid.
