....and the email said possibly lapping as well for the non-racer track rats out there?

I will be running lapping events of the NASCC this year again. I am going to continue to push for a time slot for solo 1 events. Which will mean time attack will be offered as well as basic lapping. If your interested in it I would recommend giving the WCMA solo1 rules a once over as they will more then likely be the ones the NASCC will use.

How long is the short course exactly ?

That's great!

From Castrol:

"The full circuit can be run in one of three configurations : 1.1 kms (Includes high-bank Speedway turn), 1.5 kms, and 2.7 kms. The 1000 straight-away is anticipated to allow the fastest cars to approach 200 kms/hour. "

So the short course is either 1.1 or 1.5 km?

That kind of worries me.. Stratotech is 2.8kms long.. I kind of question how we are going to race on a track that is basically only a km long.. According to wcma lapping regulations we can only run 8 cars on that track at a time in a lapping group. The club uses lapping to basically pay for the day with a usual 20+ cars in attendance. Thats just not going to happen at castrol.. I know that everyone wants to be super excited about that place.. But I personally don't think its going to work well at all.

I'm with Sean, I thought Strato was around 1.1 miles. Something like that. 2.8 km seems too long.

http://stratotech.ca/park_facility/track_layout.pdf

There you have it, 1.76km length with the longest straight being just over a quarter mile.

I thought it was 1.7miles... which is Its still going to be a issue.. as that would make strato .5 times longer... I dunno... we will see. I am going to say it right now though. Get your NASCC spots fast because I am not going to have anything like we had the last weekend of indy lapping out there.
