Less wall, more speed.

You're going to be a pro body guy by end of the season!

Well first off big thanks to Grant for taking those wicked pics! Can never have enough of those

Another great weekend of racing in the books! Coming off last race weekends success I was certainly feeling both the car and I had some potential but I wouldn't have guessed a repeat performance!

We took home two wins, a third place and a fourth place finish this weekend.

We started the weekend off right with qualifying P4 (a new PB!) running a 1:31.3 (matching my last weekends FTD)

Race #1 was BANANAS!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QT_c_dyFLs0&t=496s

One of the craziest races to grace Castrol Raceway, so many position changes had everyone on the edge of their seat for entire race. I just needed one more lap..maybe two. Still a decent finish all in all.

The car developed a odd misfire in the afternoon heat KOTR race, it doesn't slow the car down terribly but it starts missing between Turn 2 and Turn 3 and no where else, very odd.. Have to get that addressed before next weekend for sure.

KOTR we had some fun trying to get past a certain Sentra, four Miata's were glued to that car for a couple laps. We found out 3 wide in turn 4 isn't total suicide either lol (video of this is coming). One competitor decided to play by his own rules and run sans restrictor plate so he was off on his own shortly afterwards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QsVEX-mntQ

Race#2 I got caught flat footed, way off pace, not sure why but all of a sudden we lost 0.5s a lap. So in damage control mode we brought home a 4th position finish. Not bad but definitely not where I was looking to be.

Race #3 The feature race now, had a great start, after T2 ended up in 2nd and hot on the leaders tail for the first few laps. Having been in this position before all I could think was just stay here, keep it tidy and gap the pack. Unfortunately the leader was pushing hard and having missed the drivers meeting in the morning wasn't aware of the new penalties for exceeding track limits. He put a few tires off a few too many times and out came the black flag (I didn't think they'd throw one even after the meeting, lesson learned!). Unfortunately for me the flag was ignored (likely thinking it was in error) so I was in first but the lead was not earned, we continued pushing and eventually I was able to make a move and get the lead the proper way. I definitely felt better about taking the position and not getting it by default. With all this fighting the 3rd place driver was able to catch up and also capitalize on some hot tire mistakes and grab 2nd place. With just a couple laps left I threw it in defensive mode and took the tight/slow line in every pass zone effectively shutting down any challenges from behind.

Race #4 was alittle different, attrition had me up into P2 for the start! I loaned out a set of tires to a fellow competitor in hopes of keeping up the racing spirit and having more than just a 2 car battle up front, wow what a mistake haha. The race starts well, hold P2 for 3/4 of a lap before I jump into the lead, then I slowly watch the racecar with my tires on it gain and gain and gain on me. What an idiot I thought, no matter, I had track position and it's going to take more than a few fake moves to get around me in the next 22minutes. This was a mixed class race with a split start so eventually we would be in traffic, thankfully everyone was paying attention and let our knife fight continue thru without too much delay. Finished a cool 0.5s ahead of 2nd place, next time no mr nice guy lending out tires to fast guys haha
(end of this race you really hear the misfiring coming outta T2)

It looks just as "asses & elbows" as it did from outside the car.

So... they went from SM trim to whatever IT/PT class their car fits? Or they were running less legal than that?

KOTR is weird because it doesn't really count towards anything other than a trophy for winning, we've been told we can run any tire too so its not really a class race, it's kinda like a practice session for SM's at least.

And ya the 'highlightreel' never fails to bring the action! haha
