I find this website is pretty good for graphics card comparisons:

That site doesn't even list the GTX770. Ill look into it more later. I think its a fairly new card

I still have to do some case research, this is still just one of the first ones I saw that looked cool
Cooler Master HAF XB Gamer Case, Black ILC: 884102019616 SKU: MX43201 1 $99.99 $99.99

Still don't know alot about motherboards and the differances or what you get for price differences, its on my list of needing to search
Asus H87M-PLUS /CSM w/ Dual DDR3 1600, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, HDMI, DVI, D-Sub ILC: 886227494354 SKU: MX45859 1 $119.99 $119.99

It's all about features on a motherboard so get one that lets you do what you want. The more it costs generally the more features or more durable parts it has. I've got a step up from that board Asus M5a99x Evo and i've overclocked the crap out of it and can't break it, Asus as a brand is just bullet proof, gigabyte is cheap but powerful and after running it in one of my computers I will NEVER go back.

So I can have internet when not connected through a cable
D-Link Xtreme N Desktop PCI Adapter ILC: 790069298578 SKU: MX15587 1 $39.99 $39.99

not to sure in the differences, I understand modular means less cables but a little bit more money. 750W is probably overkill but It will give me lots of headroom, doesn't seem like I'm saving to much by going lower. Thats basically the extent of my understanding,
Corsair CS Series 750W Modular Power Supply ILC: 843591041386 SKU: MX49232 1 $109.99 $109.99

750watt for the price is awesome, Corsair is a great name and thats what i've trusted in any computer I build.!

might be worth going for professional, but I only plan on 16gb of ram right now, as I understand it even that is overkill
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (64-bit) SP1 DVD - OEM ILC: GFC-02050 SKU: MX32996 1 $119.99 $119.99

for when I need to use disks etc
Asus 8x DVDRW Slim External, Black ILC: 610839416844 SKU: MX40411 1 $39.99 $39.99

Save 10.00 and just get the Asus 19.99 DVD burner!

I don't understand the differences between all the i5's but this one is the most expensive i5 on the list, I understand that an i7 is overkill.
Intel Core™ i5-4670K Processor, 3.40GHz w/ 6MB Cache ILC: 735858260664 SKU: MX45429 1 $249.99 $249.99

I7 is overkill, that i5 is the best one you can get, overclocks extremely well and just blasts through any computer task you throw at it. For $50.00 cheaper you can get an 8 Core AMD FX 8350 which also overclocks very well and is a super sturdy chip if you throw voltage at it, 1 year in on mine overclocked from 4.0 to 4.4ghz it's still ticking and is now watercooled and pumped up to 4.7ghz running stable all day long. The 8 core is awesome for multithreaded applications and is the only thing it excels over the i5 with.

my 16gb of ram, should be more than enough
AMD Radeon Entertainment Series 16GB DDR3 1600 CL9 Dual Channel Kit (2x 8GB) ILC: 609713035929 SKU: MX49094 1 $159.99 $159.99

for hard drives, what I understand is I can use 60gb of my SSD as a cache to speed up my regular hard drive and the rest of my SSD for bootup and other important stuff. Not sure how any of this is done but I'll get to that later then, does all my hardeware etc support this?
Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA III w/ 64MB Cache ILC: ST1000DM003 SKU: MX36523 1 $64.99 $64.99

I like the SSD stuff but I find that iRacing takes so long to load a track it doesn't matter between a 7200rpm and an SSD. If you play other games or transfer files an SSD is a must, 60gb's fills up fast, i've managed to rack up 220gb's on mine with pictures, video's and games. It's a personal choice on that one.

Corsair Force Series GS SATA III Solid State Drive, 128GB ILC: 843591037068 SKU: MX43552 1 $119.99 $119.99

A healthy chunk of my build cost, pretty much alot of the reason I'm past my budget. Basically the top of the line from my research unless you want to step up to a gtx780 which is $. The gtx770 should be overkill for me. Should I aim for a lower one?
MSI N770 GAMING GeForce GTX 770 4GB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort ILC: 816909109153 SKU: MX48434 1 $419.99 $419.99
If you go AMD you can get a very powerful 280x R9 for 339.00 , it's the replacement for the now discontinued AMD 7970 3gb cards that retailed for over 500.00 new (ask me how I know that lol!)

A cheap aftermarket CPU cooler that someone recomended
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler ILC: 884102012921 SKU: MX36377 1 $34.99 $34.99

not sure if the cpu cooler comes with thermal compound or not, not clue wether I should use the 10$ 12$ etc compound?
Arctic Cooling MX-4 Premium Thermal Compound, 4g ILC: 872767003767 SKU: MX31051 1 $7.99 $7.99
All the overclocking sites i've visited this seems to be a staple among enthusiasts and it performs under mild overclocking.

Obviously I'm not very good at budgetting, I research something and then decide thats what I want and bam overbudget. Is there anything in my list that is overkill and I should cut out to save money?

There, added a whole bunch to your build in underlines

Added a build very similiar to my current iRacing computer.

haha I like your style! 1st off unless you are running Virtual machines you will never get into that much ram! Pick some DDR 3 , 8 gb at most and 2133 if you feel the need to overclock, 2133 isn't even needed until you really start pushing the Bus and CPU to it's limits so save your coins on that right there.

Sabertooth is a badass board and from what i've witnessed is that if you want to push the limits of your hardware this is the LS1 of the motherboard world!

I was eying up the Sabertooth on the intel side but it was a bit over 200 if I remember right I'll drop some of the DD3

edit: it was 250$ for the sabertooth for the intel, pricy stuff

Is the in store Memory express warantee worth it?
Still not really sure what to do Case wise. Should keep it under 100$ unless I find something I really like, Hard to pick out the cheap crap from the good deals, any suggestions.
Those cooler master haf cases have some good reviews floating around but they are far from flashy or cool.

edit: for the graphics card what company to go with, they are all similarly priced, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte are the guys I've heard of?
