Default I just made the best steak in the history of the world/BBQ at my place Friday the 22

I finally decided to grill up one of these steaks I had sitting here. Fan-bloody-tastic.

I always used to cook the shit out of steaks when I was younger and then rarely bought any when I first moved out like 10 years back. Only a couple of years ago did I discover the whole point of eating a steak that was rare or medium ... anything but well done like I always used to have them. I read a few articles on grilling and basics on properly aging and prepping steaks. Man was it worth it. Just some salt and pepper and that was one of the best steaks I've ever had ... cooked in my dark backyard while trying to keep an eye on it with a flashlight no less.

I think this calls for a BBQ at my place on Friday. Who's in? We can just migrate the Straightpipe hangout at the shop over to my backyard. I'll supply the meat and potatoes if someone else wants to bring libations and some sides. I've got the fire pit here as well so we can get that going later on if we're still hanging around late. We can sit around and marvel at my tire shed as well, lol.

EDIT: Just realized I hadn't posted my address, it's 11915 141ave. You can call me at 265-2365 if you get lost.

You can count me in. I can get us some steaks from the keg (all ready aged 28 days) if we want to get real fancy.

How would you manage that Mike? Just steal them out of the back? hehe

They actually age them for a month in the fridge? I know that with dry aging that's the optimal way to go, but usually these steakhouses are lazy and crank out so much meat that you rarely even get a steak aged two weeks.

I need to know now, pretty much who is comeing and wants one though so I can get get my brother to grab them. It might be to late but I will call and ask.

Now your next step is to pick up some 4-peppercorn steak spice (or you can smash your own peppercorns in a grinder or a ziplock if you dont want the added salts), and a little lemon dill and celery seed.

These are my favourite things to compliment a steaks flavour with.

What time are you thinking of on Friday?

Would 7 p.m. work for everyone? I might go play my first round of golf this year on Friday afternoon.
